TREKKING IN NEPAL
Trekking
is by far the most popular activity in Nepal and definitely the
best means of seeing the country. Ever since the late Colonel
Jimmy Roberts organized the first trek for a group of old
ladies, the popularity of trekking in Nepal has only grown with
each passing year. Roberts is rightfully known as the father of
commercial trekking. Trekking can be combined with other
activities like rafting, bird watching, rock climbing and hang
gliding.
Trekking cost
includes
Equipment consisting
of two person tent,
matterss, fuel,
kitchen untenstls, dining tent (for
group more than 6 pax), dining-table, camping stools, sleeping
bag, washbowl, toilet, tent and
toilet-paper.
Personnel consisting of one
Sirdar (Head Guide), one
cook, one Sherpa for
every members
and required number of kitchen boys and porters or pack animals.
Meals consisting of breakfast, lunch & dinner as per
trekking menu, bed-tea in morning and
tea with biscuits, on arrival at camping sites.
Briefing prior to trekking - route conditions, equipments,
courtesies to be observed
etc.
