ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY
Jimmy
Roberts, the pioneer of commercial trekking gave this region the
name, “Annapurna Sanctuary”. The area is sacred to the local
populace. The trek passes through ever changing landscapes,
which begins in the lowlands and climbs up through farming
villages winding up in the glaciers of the Himalayas. The views
are awesome. One of the outstanding views can be had from Poon
Hill, which is slightly off the track and trekkers make the
early morning excursion from Ghorapani for a sunrise view of the
Dhaulagiri range. There are excellent facilities for trekkers
all along this route.
You
drive to Phedi from where the trek starts. Going via
Machhapuchhare Base Camp on to Annapurna Base Camp you finally
reach Ghandruk from where the road back leads to Naya Pul and
you finally drive back to Pokhara.
The cost and trekking details
are available on your request.
